Strange & Sustainable

Sustainable and respectful practices are of utmost priority. If not found naturally deceased in the wild by us, we specifically source our specimens through several renowned entomological suppliers with clear chains of custody and no known greenwashing practices.
Insect aviaries serve the purpose of allowing wild females of species to lay their eggs in captivity, where nearly 100% of the offspring will be able to reach adulthood, versus the small percentage of wild-hatched babies.
Most adults are then released into the wild by these aviaries, greatly bolstering species populations, and the cycle continues. A small portion is retained in captivity for the rest of the natural life cycle (approx. a week for most species), and are then sold as papered specimens.
This aviary-based process helps combat deforestation and endangerment levels of species by offering alternative employment to the destructive logging industry.

Due to the fact that these specimens had been able to live full lives, they may show signs of such. Such as wing chips or missing antennae.
